Kylie smiled as Vix, although she wasn't quite sure why. The calmness was fading now, being replaced by a cheerfulness that was her usual emotion, but she knew it ought to not have been her emotion at the time. Sure, it was nice that he'd bandaged up his leg, and that she couldn't see the blood, and yes, even that he'd sat down close to her. But something weird was going on. "Yep, everything's alright!" she said, pep in her voice. And then, even the cheerfulness was fading away, giving way to a burning curiosity that she knew was her own.
"I think something's going on, though," Kylie said. But the words came out of a young man's mouth that had suddenly appeared on the other side of Kylie. Kylie smiled at her friend, glad she'd been able to conjure him up. Sometimes the materials just weren't around, and he wasn't able to come out and talk. Unfortunately, the process was sort of weird, and hard to explain. Kylie hoped it wouldn't freak Vixen out.
"I'm Ricky, Kylie's...friend," the apparition told Vix, giving him a charming smile. In a way, Ricky was Kylie's perfect match, having the exact same personality as her. Of course, that's because he was simply her imaginary friend, and he acted any way she wanted him to.
"I don't know really how to explain this...you know how I said I had an imaginary friend that I talk to? Well... this is it..." Kylie explained, a little shyly. "And I agree with him, something weird's going on. My emotions are all out of whack..." She carefully lifted the spider from her head and sat it back down on her lap to make sure it wouldn't get hurt.

Vix didn't seem too phased by her imaginary friend, he'd seen plenty of crazy things, this was just another one of them. He made himself looked surprised when she said her emotions out of wack. "What? Really? That's weird..." He looked around, in mock confusion, but a pang of guilt hit him. He felt horrible. Not only was he playing with her emotions, but he was also lying to her about it. At first he decided to just make her feel less confused, and started to make it face away from her. But the more he took away, the more he felt bad about it. He released his grip on her emotions. He let her own take control and he looked down. He chewed on his lip and he absent mindedly pet his spider. He tried to look less guilty but couldn't help it anymore. It was eating him away from the inside out. It would kill him if he didn't tell her soon enough but he couldn't find the words. He stayed silent, and tilted his head up, but avoided eye contact with Kylie as much as he could. Her imaginary friend seemed to have faded away, or ran off when Vix wasn't looking. But Vix didn't care either way.

For a while, Kylie experienced a weird dampening of her curiosity, and Ricky faded away. Then, all at once, a flood of emotions- all normal for her this time- came over the girl, along with a realization that the reason Vix hadn't been startled by the appearance of her imaginary friend might've been because Vix had a power of his own, perhaps one that was messing with her emotions. She noticed how he avoided looking at her, and a bit of playfulness, combined with that burning curiosity, overcame the girl.
"Hey, Vix," she said with a lopsided grin, poking at his leg with her index finger and leaning close to him. "You wouldn't happen to have, oh, you know, some sort of power that's making my emotions go coo-coo, would you? Because you're not looking at me, and even though you've got your face turned away from me, I could bet you twenty bucks it's basically got 'GUILT' written all over it." She poked him again, and laughed.
"I'm not going to be mad, you know. I would just like some answers is all. And I'm sure Ricky wants to know, just as bad as I do. Maybe even more; he's always been a curious one."

Vix nodded silently, turning toward her. "Yeah... I don't mean to, sometimes it just happens. I don't know how, or why but I make people feel different sometimes. And even if people don't show their emotions, I know how they feel. And everything they feel. It scares me sometimes, and sometimes i find out things I didn't want to know. So I try to avoid it whenever I can." He looked down. "I remember when I was younger I would try to make the other kids like me, but I would always forget to keep it up, so they'd think I was all crazy. I also used to make the adults at the group homes randomly decide to give us treats or an extended play time." He half heartedly chuckled, and looked back up to Kylie. "You're not mad at me though, are you?"

Kylie giggled slightly at Vix's confession, especially when he talked about making the adults at his group time give them treats and extra playtime. It certainly didn't sound like he'd ever done anything truly horrible with his power, and Kylie didn't really get why he seemed so embarrassed about it.
"Of course I'm not mad at you!" Kylie said with a grin, leaning over and giving Vix another hug. It was a little better this time, since they were both sitting down, and most of Vix's height came from his legs and not so much his torso. At least Kylie didn't feel quite so tiny this way. "I'm only a little confused as to why you think I would be. I mean, I just made some random dude you'd never seen before appear in your room. We've obviously got some sort of special power. Must come with the wings. I can imagine absolutely anything and make it real, for a while anyway. I've even made unicorns and little dragons before. So why would I be mad at you for using your power? It's not like you were trying to hurt me or anything, just calm me down."

Vix hugged Kylie back, not letting go. He liked the closeness and want to keep her near. He kept his arms around her but loosely enough for her to pull away if she wanted to. Vix half shrugged. "I just thought you'd get mad at me for playing with your emotions. It's usually something people don't like." He looked down, then looked up with his eyes, not tilting his head. "Most people get mad at me, even of they don't know me very well and it tends to end with them telling me they hate me and the last thing i want is for my new, first, and only friend to get mad at me or hate me so I didn't want to upset you, and it worried me that you might be upset with me... Although I could change that if I wanted to." He said jokingly.

Kylie was slightly surprised that Vix returned the hug, if for no other reason than he hadn't seemed to be extremely comfortable with the first one she'd given him. Nevertheless, she was happy that he'd returned it.
"Well, I mean, it was sort of weird, you know? Like I knew something weird was going on, but I couldn't really get myself to care. And now I know why. I don't really do mad. Or at least, not very often. So you really don't have to worry about me being upset with you. It probably just won't happen, period," she said. Acting on an impulse, she gave the boy a quick kiss on the cheek and then broke the hug, suddenly feeling a little bit shy.
"Just make sure and warn me before you do your hocus-pocus next time, 'kay?" she said, staring at the floor.

Vix nodded, listening to Kylie. His eyes went wide when she kissed his cheek, which instantly turned burning red when she did. He was speechless. He chuckled lightly, feeling... odd. He couldn't quite put his finger on what it was, but it made him feel funny... in a good way. Vix liked it, but it scared him in a way. He didn't like not knowing what he felt. He felt a little sick, his stomach felt funny. Kind of nervous. Butterflies. That was. Vix turned away, looking down. No one had ever given him butterflies before. He didn't quite know what to think of it. All he really knew was he liked it, and he wished in a way she'd do it again. He wondered if he could make her, but he knew it'd be wrong to do that with her emotions. It'd be wrong to be selfish enough to possibly make her feel and want something she normally wouldn't. Vix looked back to Kylie, his face still bright red, and nodded in response to her question. "Yeah, okay."

Kylie laughed when she did look up at his face, which was now red as a cherry. Vix had an odd expression on her face, which caused her to laugh even more.
"Hey, Vix," she teased lightly, still giggling, "You're looking kind of red right now. And you should really see your face right now." She really did want to know what the face was for, so she imagined up a mirror and handed it to the boy.
"Seriously, what's up with that? You look like you swallowed something and it's jumping around in your stomach," she laughed gently. She couldn't imagine why this was affecting the boy this way. It had just been a friendly peck on the cheek, it wasn't like she'd made out with him or anything. The French did this sort of thing all the time. Then again, Vix wasn't French. But still, she didn't get it...

Vix blushed more, looking at himself. He didn't know what to say, or how to explain it. He looked down, chuckling nervously. "It's just..." He began, not entirely knowing what he was going to say. He though for a moment before he could find the words. "I mean..." He still didn't know exactly. "Well.. no girl has ever done that me before..." He said, speaking the truth. He was just as confused as Kylie at this point. "I don't really know how to feel... Other than how I already do... Which I can't exactly explain..." He trailed off, looking down. He wanted to understand how he felt. He wanted to be able to explain it to her, but want he really wanted, even though he hadn't fully realized it yet, was to kiss her. But he was far too nervous already, and would have no idea how to, at least without having a moment of insanity and startling them both.

Kylie listened expectantly as he began to explain, eyebrows creeping upward as Vix finally spit it out. Oh. So that was what it was.
Now Kylie was the one to be speechless, not really sure how to reply to that. "Well..." she began, not sure where exactly she was going with this. How was she supposed to explain her impulsive behavior? She wished she could talk to Ricky about this, but she didn't want to conjure him up and have a conversation right there with him about it, and she'd gotten bad about talking to him just inside her head. "I, uh, don't really go around doing that all that often... I'm more of a hugging person... uh... sorry if I... um, well, if I embarrassed you or something... I'll just stick to the hugs, if... uh.... if you would rather me do that..." Oh, wonderful. A pure work of genius. Kylie was barely able to keep herself from conjuring up Ricky for a few seconds, just so he could tell her how stupid that sounded. Ricky did that some times.

Vix shook his head. "No, no, no." He smiled, trying to seem a little more confident in himself. "i liked it." He blushed more, looking down. Confidence was not his thing. He chuckled lightly, and tilted his head up a bit, and he realized he'd hunched over a bit more, edging towards Kylie. He hadn't a clue what he was doing, or why he was doing it, he hadn't even known he was doing it at first. He stopped himself, probably a little too late. His face was far too close to Kylie's to be normal, and he half smiled. He felt much more awkward than he looked. He tried to look at her in a more flirty way. He couldn't tell he was as much as he did. He chuckled lightly, trying not to breathe into Kylie's face. He wanted to kiss her, but couldn't find the will. He started to pull back.

Kylie let one eyebrow rise above the other in mild disbelief. "Oh, you did, did you?" she asked coyly. He seemed a bit... nervous about the whole thing as he edged towards her. Kylie wondered what he was doing, but for some reason decided that now was not the time to ask him. Instead she watched him with guarded curiosity as he finally edged close enough to almost touch her, his face very close to her own. He gave her a little half-smile, which she returned, slightly amused with the whole thing. She had a feeling that she knew what was about to happen. He gave her what she supposed might be a flirtatious look. She really did think it made him look kind of cute, really.
Finally, Vix was close enough, it seemed. He paused for a second, as if he were contemplating whether or not to kiss her, and began to pull back, a little sheepishly, it seemed. Kylie rolled her eyes.
"Oh, for Pete's fricken sake, just do it," she muttered under her breath, then leaned forward and pressed her lips to Vix's, one hand resting on his shoulder as she did so.

Vix's eyes went wide. He was stunned for a second as he felt Kylie's lips against his. But he liked it. He started to close his eyes and he kissed her back. And he loved it, he loved feeling his lips against hers, he loved being close to her. He smiled lightly against her lips, and kissed her again. He started to wrap one arm around her, hesitantly. He put his hand lightly on her back and pulled her closer. He didn't want it to end, but something was telling him this wasn't a good idea. Something was telling him to slow down, stop, pull away. But he really didn't want to, he wanted to keep going. He wanted to want more with doubts. He wanted Kylie to be closer to him. He wanted to kiss her more, but something kept telling him no. He tried to silence it, but he just didn't know how. He wasn't even fully sure if Kylie had even really wanted this... But she would've pulled away if she didn't, at least that's what Vix figured. He wondered for a moment if she was doing this because she felt bad for him... He hoped not. He shook the thought away, forcing himself to for once think positively.

In all honesty, Kylie was actually fairly surprised that she'd read Vixen correctly, that this was actually what he'd wanted. She'd hoped that she'd been correct, of course. But it seemed to her that Vixen was enjoying this and, to be truthful, she was, too.
Of course, Kylie had always enjoyed being close to people, but never before had she experienced this level of closeness, the 'intimacy' of the close quarters that they were now in. And Kylie liked it. A lot. She felt Vixen's hand on her back, pulling her gently closer, and she moved with no complaint, her hand moving to his neck, fingers sliding gently in the hair at the nape of his neck. Her other hand rested on Vixen's leg, not really doing anything, though for a while Kylie thought that maybe she was bracing herself on it, keeping herself from falling altogether into Vixen's lap. After all, she was leaning quite a bit, and she hoped in the small portion of the back of her mind that wasn't involved in the kissing that she wasn't hurting his leg by putting all her weight in that one spot.
