School Food... Enough Said (open)

[Kylie Jenson]

Kylie nodded. "Oh, well, I guess that makes sense. Sorry for startling you." She smiled as Vixen pet the top of Kink's head.

"Yes, you are friendly, aren't you honey?" she cooed to the snake. Kink's tongue flicked in front of her as she smelled the new human. Kylie's grin grew wider. She always thought that Kink looked so adorable when she did that.

"You wanna sit down?" she asked Vixen. She'd claimed one of the bottom bunks, so they coud just sit on her bed. She knew all the other beds were open as well, but she still felt bad sitting on what would soon belong to someone else. Though she had phrased it as a suggestion, Kylie really hoped Vixen would sit. No matter how much she loved her snake, Kink was a bit heavy for her, and she usually sat down while she held the constrictor.

"I don't think you ever told me the name of your snake," she said thoughtfully, "I remember you said your tarantula was named Monti..."

"It's fine." Vix said, her apology wasn't really necessary, and Vix was pretty sure Kylie knew that. Vix smiled brighter at Kylie's grin and sat when she offered. He noticed the snake looked to be weighing Kylie down, so he lifted it off of her shoulder and let it down half in his lap and half on the bed. He chuckled, watching the snake as it investigated him curiously. "My snake's name is Phang, fitingly enough." He laughed, picking Kink up and held it up above his head as he leaned back on to the bed so he didn't bump his head or Kink into the upper bunk. He let the snake coil down his arm and slither onto his chest. "I love how they look slimey but when you touch them, they aren't at all. " He laughed, tilting his head up to look at Kylie.

Kylie smiled thankfully as Vixen relieved the weight of the snake from her shoulders. Usually when she had Kink out, the snake stayed on the bed, or rested on her lap, so she didn't have to hold her up. Kink looked curious, giving the boy a thorough investigation.

"Phang? That's a cute name," she said. She couldn't help but grin as she watched the boy and snake together. He must really, really like animals. He's certainly got a way with them, I'll give him that. she thought as she watched them.

Using one arm to prop her up, Kylie leaned back so she could watch the pair better. She grinned at Vixen and laughed softly at his observation.

"Yeah, and don't they look so intelligent? I swear, every time a see a snake, I wonder just how much they know. I mean, everyone seems to think they're stupid just because they're an animal, but if you look in their eyes, you can see that they know sooo much more than we give them credit for, don't you think?"

[Vix]

Vix nodded to Kylie and held the arm Kink was now twirling around straight out and watched as the snake made its way down to his shoulder and around his neck. He chuckled and leaned forwards more so Kink didn't have to hold too tight to stay up. "Try not to choke me." He said, petting the snakes head. He looked back to Kylie, listening to her words. He nodded, agreeing with her. "Anyone who thinks animals are stupid, are clearly the ones who lack intelligence. Animals are very smart, probably smarter than most humans. Like I bet Kink here can tell more about some one within a few minutes of meeting them than any of us could. Kink would know a lot about their personality from just watching a few moments of how they act in certain situations, when me and you would still be wondering." He said, letting his hand slide over the snakes body and it wiggled down his chest.

Kylie couldn't help but smile as she watched Kink explore what she imagined the snake thought was her new playground. "I bet she can," Kylie said, eyes flicking momentarily back to Vixen's face before focusing once more on Kink. She always found pretty much everything the snake did to be interesting, no matter how many times she'd seen Kink do the exact same thing.

"I think she likes you," the girl said, somewhat out of the blue. She meant it, too. She never told anyone that her snake liked them unless she really thought that Kink did.

"Sometimes, Kink is kind of my personality warning system. If I let someone see her and it doesn't look like Kink likes them, then I know they aren't a good sort of person. It looks like you passed the Kink test, though," Kylie said with a laugh, reaching out and running the back of two fingers down the snake's scales.

[Vix]

Vix chuckled, still watching Kink. "Horray! I passed the Kink test!" He laughed, as he picked Kink back up and brought the snakes face to his. "So I hear you like me, this true? Hmmm? Is it?" He said, poking his nose closer to the snake, then he sat Kink back down. "I might need to borrow Kink sometime so I can have the Kink test done on some other people I'm not too sure about." He said, sitting back up, hunched over to keep from hitting his head. He glanced upwards. "I don't have to worry about hitting my head anywhere in this school but the bunk beds. But at least I'm weary of them from staying on them in group homes, otherwise I'd probably already have a giant lump." He looked back down as Kink started winding around his leg, moving downwards. "Where are you going?"

Kylie laughed, content with just watching the other two interact. It was almost as if Vixen became a different person when he was around an animal, a much more open, loving sort of person. Kylie liked it. She glanced up when Vixen mentioned the bed.

"Oh, yeah, I guess you would have to kind of watch out for those, huh?" she said, reaching up and touching the bottom of the other bunk. "I guess I never really noticed; it's one of the perks of being short, I guess." She laughed as she watched Kink slither down Vixen's leg.

"She thinks you're her new plaything," Kylie guessed as Kink started to move up his other leg. "She had a really nice big tree-like thing back at home that we called her playground. You probably remind her of it. You're about as tall as the tree, too!" She laughed.

[Vix]

Vix chuckled and nodded, then picked Kink up. "Do you think I'm a tree? 'Cause I'm not, I'm a human beings here." He laughed again, sitting Kink back down.

"Does Kink do well with other snakes? Or has she ever even met one before?" He asked, thinking of what Kink and Phang might do together. He would be far too afraid of letting her near Monti though, beings Kink could break his leg just sliding over it the wrong way. He trusted Phang around Monti though, he knew what he could and couldn't do with the spider. Occasionally, if Vix would have them both out he'd find Monti sitting on top of Phang when he curled up to rest. He also saw Monti climb into Phang's feeding box one time, which would've have ended well if he hadn't noticed, since Phang believes anything in there is food he is welcome to eat.

Kylie shrugged. "I guess I don't know how Kink would do with another snake. She's never met another snake before, as far as I know. Unless Dalton put a garden snake in with her at some point, which I doubt he would, since that probably wouldn't end well for the garden snake. But no, Kink's always been an only snake. Haven't you, princess?" She cooed to the snake, who flickered out its tongue in what Kylie had always believed to at least be an acknowledgement of what she'd said.

"If you're thinking of introducing her to Phang, I'd be careful, if I even did it at all. I don't know if snakes get jealous or not, but I wouldn't want anything to happen to either of them if they got angry at each other for some reason or another," Kylie said doubtfully.

[Vix]

Vix nodded. "Makes sense. Fair enough." Vix stroked the snakes back again and looked up at Kylie, "Well would /you/ like to meet Phang then?" He asked, glancing over at Kink's cage with a questioning look on his face as if to say, "If so would you like me to put Kink away?" He chuckled, picking Kink up once a=more and twirling her around in the air. "Or do you not want us to leave you here? Huh? Is that it? Do you want to be a spoiled little selfish princess and keep us stuck here with you? Yeah? You don't want us to go give attention to another snake?" He asked, leaning back once more and kissing the under neath of the snakes head/chin area. He chuckled, letting Kink slip down out of his hand and on to his shoulder.

Kylie smiled and nodded. "I'd love to meet Phang!" she replied cheerfully. As far as she was concerned, being invited to meet someone's pet was somewhat of an honor, and she never turned it down. "I suppose if I do, though, you'll have to put Kink back in her enclosure..." She laughed as Vix teased her pet and kissed it's chin, reaching over and gently scratching its back.

"You certainly are a spoiled princess, aren't you, Kink?" she giggled, "You just want mama all to yourself, don't you?" Laughing, she looked at Vix as she explained, "She hates Bear. She must think that I pay too much attention to him and not enough to her. She doesn't even like it when I have a friend over unless that friend is paying attention to her. The poor baby is obviously attention starved."

[Vix]

Vix stood, placing Kink back into her enclosure, frowning at her. "She's so deprived. It's tragic, really. I can't believe she isn't getting constant attention." He faked a sniffle. He turned back to Kylie, and laughed. "You're going to have to be a little more careful with Phang. He's not quite as friendly as Kink." He started toward the door. "He's a lot like me, not good at making friends, and likes to be alone. " He chuckled. "He doesn't bite... often. But better safe than sorry, so be gentle and never put your hand over his head. And I'll get Monti out since he knows to be nicer than usual when he's out too. " He grabbed the door handle, turning back to face Kylie, "He's fuzzy if you pet him and is crazy friendly. He likes to climb a lot, and chances are he'll try to end up on top of your head."

Kylie giggled at Vix's fake sniffle, and listened closely to his instructions about how to treat Phang, nodding at various intervals to let Vix know that she was still listening to him. She grinned widely when he said that he'd take out Monti, too. She'd never been around a tarantula, but had always thought they looked pretty cool when she saw them at the pet store.

"He's fuzzy?" Kylie asked incredulously as she followed Vix out of the room. "I'd never thought of a spider being fuzzy before. I guess they do look fuzzy when you look at them, but I always figured those were more like spines or something." She laughed as she thought of the spider crawling up on top of her head. She didn't think that it would bother her. She really hoped it wouldn't, anyway.

"Well, then, lead the way, Vix!" she said, making a sweeping gesture with her hand towards the empty hallway. She knew the boys' dorms were upstairs, but she wasn't sure which room Vix lived in.

Vix nodded and headed out into the hallway. "Yeah, he feels really fuzzy on his back." He kept reminding himself to walk slow so Kylie could keep up. He began adjusting to a slower passe. Every once and a while he'd look over at her, making sure she was still there. She was quiet, and light footed, he could barely tell she was there. He never really thought she wasn't there, but he wanted to check all the same. He smiled at her when they meet each others gaze, then looked away quickly. He scratched at the back of his head nervously, and chuckled lightly. He cursed himself under his breath for being so awkward and kept walking silently. He reached his dorm quickly and opened the door. "Last dorm on the left." He chuckled. "They let me pick my dorm and I figured no one else would want the one way down here until all the others were full."

Kylie felt a little awkward walking alongside Vix as they went down the hallway to his room. He didn't talk much, and Kylie herself wasn't sure what to say to him. She noticed that he kept looking back at her, presumably to make sure that she was keeping up with him. He smiled when their eyes met, but looked away quickly, as if he were embarrassed. Kylie thought it was kind of cute.

"What? You mean you don't want to have a bunch of roommates, Vix?" she asked teasingly as she entered his room. She looked around, taking in everything that was in the room. It wasn't much different from her own, except since it was on the other side of the hall, it was a mirror image of it. She spotted the enclosures for the animals and waved her fingers at Vix's pets.

"So these are the famous Phang and Monti, huh?" she asked.
